CJ Takatch to Compete in World Famous Allianz Arena

May 17th, Rochester, NY, 2017; A local soccer player will be gracing the hallowed turf of one of the most famous Soccer clubs in the World this Sunday as part of an extensive partnership between FC Bayern Munich and Global Premier Soccer.

CJ Takatch from Greece NY and a student of Athena High School, is one of ten lucky youth soccer players from across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico who will be flying to Munich, Germany to compete in the FC Bayern Youth Cup.

The contest will be hosted at the 75,000 seater Alllianz Arena, home of the German Giants and is open to boys aged 14-16 during the time of the event. CJ was one of ten players chosen by the coaches of FC Bayern at an identification event in South Carolina in February.

CJ Takatch joined Rochester Futbol Club in July 2016 and plays for the Boys U16 team. He is having a great season so far with 18 goals in 33 games from center midfield and has been a key part of the team’s remarkable form this season.

"I am very excited about this opportunity, competing on an international stage has always been a dream of mine," said CJ. "Rochester Futbol Club and GPS has given me an amazing chance to complete against top players from all over the world."

In November 2014, GPS and FC Bayern Munich developed one of most extensive European Club partnerships ever seen in the USA and this past week the two parties extended the agreement.  The partnership sees GPS and its network of clubs receive curriculum support from the FC Bayern Youth Academy, Coaching exchanges and pathways for players to go on trial in Germany.

FC Bayern Munich is one of the biggest clubs in world soccer and has a proven track record of developing world-class players whilst competing in the highest echelons of world football.  Five starting players in the 2014 German World Cup winning team were developed by Bayern.

“The FC Bayern Youth Cup is an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity and all the players selected should be very excited and honored to participate,” said Peter Bradley GPS Director of Coaching.  “CJ is a fantastic talent and we look forward to seeing him perform on the big stage,” said Bradley.

CJ is the second RFC player to compete at the prestigious event in the last 3 years. Stevaughn Service, currently RFC BU19s, also represented Team USA in May 2015. We wish CJ the best of luck and look forward to seeing how the team performs.
