UPDATED: Next CUSA Academy Session Starts Mon. March 8th

Session 3 of the CUSA Academy series begins Monday March 8th.  It is the continuation of Session 1 &2  and, more important, a way to develop in a truly premier players.  
 
  • CUSA Academy Third 8-week block - Monday's Mar. 8th  - Apr. 19th 

The Third 8-Week sessions are split into modules that will focus on technical training including speed, agility, footskills, small sided game tactical and up to 3 v 3 situations. 

This is an exciting opportunity designed to provide players the type of enhanced training necessary to improve their skills, knowledge and grow their passion for the game for many years to come.   Session costs and dates are noted on the attached flyer.  Please note there are a limited number of spots available at each session.   Sessions are open to players from RFC, ISC, Eclipse or Penfield.  Should sessions not fill up, applicants from other organizations throughout the community will be invited.

YNN News Cites Success of Street Soccer Balls for Haiti Program

Below is a link to the "Local Coaches Collect Soccer Balls for Haitian Children" story that ran on YNN News on February 15th.  Calloway Soccer Academy helped put on the event to raise money to buy soccer balls for children in Haiti.  RFC's own David Garcia was instrumental in helping organize the effort and can is seen frequently in the YNN video. 

A similar event is planned in April to raise more money and collect old soccer cleats and other gear at another clinic during spring break.

FREE RFC Academy Offered for U8 Girls

RFC will host a series of FREE Soccer Academies for U8 Girls on Saturday's in March and April  at Brighton Sports Zone, 3195 Brighton Henrietta TL Road, Rochester, NY 14623 on the dates noted below.
       
  • Saturday, March 13 1-2pm
  • Saturday,  March 20  1-2pm
  • Saturday,  March 27 11am -12pm
  • Saturday,  April 3   11am-12pm
  • Saturday ,  April 10   11am-12pm
  • Saturday,   April  17   11am-12pm
  • Saturday,   April  24   11am-12pm

    Players will be taught progressive ball control techniques, how to run, control and dribble using 1v1 moves, incremented passive and non-passive drills, and progress into small sided games.
       
All players should bring a ball.  Registration is limited.

Coaches Sought for 2010-2011 Season

We seek new coaches at all age levels for the upcoming 2010-2011 season to support our Premier soccer program. Our Club has established itself as a very successful program in the greater Rochester area and throughout the North East.  Our teams compete within the Region 1 and/or Colonial League, Thruway League, State Cup, and other competions around the country each year.  We have seen great success over the past few years.  We are looking to continue this trend and would like you to consider being a part of it.

What are the qualities that we look for in making Coaching decisions?

  • Candidates must have soccer knowledge and coaching experience; must conduct themselves in a professional manner, and have a positive attitude. 
  • Candidates must possess the passion and energy to continue the tradition of our successful program and must possess outstanding communication and organizational skills. A strong ability to communicate with youth players and parents is a must. 
  • Coaching candidates are expected to be present at every practice, event and competition during the course of the season.
  • Coaching candidates must be at least 20 years old and have a valid New York State driver's license and vehicle insurance.
  • Coaching candidate must have CPR and First Aid training (or willingness to gain proficiency).
  • Coaching candidates will be required to undergo background screening conducted by NYSWYSA.
  • Coaching candidates must have USSF or NSCAA Coaching Certification (or willingness to gain proficiency within 2 yrs).

The 2010--2011 season officially kicks off officially with player tryouts beginning in late July at Monroe Community College.   Our goal is to finalize decisions regarding our coaching slate by June 1st.

Please note that it is recommended that orders be placed by November 13th in order to receive before Xmas.
